Matthew Tkachuk Takes An Embarrassing Dive Against The Canucks
Matthew Tkachuk is a fan favorite in Calgary but is hated by all other teams and fanbases. He's a talented young player who plays a combination of a skilled and gritty game. However, fans (especially Edmonton fans) will never forget his 'turtle' incident as Zack Kassian of the Edmonton Oilers pummeled him. Now he's upset the Vancouver Canucks with an obvious dive that somehow fooled the referees.
Some believe that Tkachuk's dive is a demonstration of his dark ability to draw penalties. Others have called him a 'soccer player' and believe his diving is embarrassing to both his father's legacy and the game of hockey. After a whistle, Tyler Myers of the Canucks hit Tkachuk in the face with the side of his glove. Although Myers did make contact, Tkachuk went down in an instant and completely sold it to the referee. It's worthy to note that the Flames scored the eventual game winning goal on this powerplay drawn by Tkachuk.
