Montreal Canadiens Have Waived Corey Perry
The Montreal Canadiens are playing some risky business as the team is stuck in a numbers game. The Habs have decided to waive veteran Corey Perry who was just recently signed on a one-year deal worth $750,000.
Given the likelihood of Victor Mete being claimed on waivers, the Canadiens have placed Corey Perry. Just finished an interview with Marc Bergevin, who said Perry's intangibles and his net-front presence are keys. Now he'll have to hope he clears.

The 35-year-old pest is likely just going through the financial motions with the team who plan on using Perry in a depth role, however, since there was a ton of interest in him on the open market, there's certainly a chance the team could lose him to a claim.
Last season in Dallas, the long-time Anaheim Duck recorded 21 points in 57 games for the Stars and scored some timely goals in their playoff run to the Stanley Cup.
Perry recently commented on how excited he was to play in the North division and how he felt the rivalries were going to bring some crazy intensity to the games.
Hopefully for him and the Canadiens, nobody claims him before noon tomorrow.
