New York Rangers Make Shocking Roster Move

The New York Rangers have sent shockwaves across the NHL on Sunday as the team has decided to waive 25-year-old defenseman Tony DeAngelo.

The right-handed offensive-defenseman was considered to be a huge part of the team's core before this season and now after a minus six rating in six games, his future is certainly in doubt. There's a ton of rumblings that DeAngelo and one of his Rangers teammates fought in the dressing room on Saturday.

DeAngelo has certainly made some headlines for his use of social media and some potential burner twitter accounts, and now he's making headlines on the ice for all the wrong reasons.

The Rangers signed DeAngelo to a two-year contract worth $4.8 million per season back on October 15th, 2020, so this is a surprising outcome of what was supposed to be a monster season for the New Jersey native.

While not a ton of teams have room for a $4.9 million cap hit this season, there's going to be some level of interest now that team's know he's available.
