Pierre-Luc Dubois Already Feeling at Home With the Jets

Considering it's only been a day or two, the Winnipeg Jets love to hear it. Pierre-Luc Dubois is feeling 'at home' with the Jets after a blockbuster deal sent him happily out of Columbus and closed the book on his career as a Blue Jacket.

The Jets are now loaded down the middle and if Dubois and Mark Scheifele continue to develop, the two pivots could be in the conversation for best 1-2 punch in the league.

There's still no date yet for Dubois' debut with his new team, as he's dealing with the quarantine protocols in place by the federal government of Canada. The team has held meetings with the provincial government of Manitoba, and are trying to get him some exemption to lower the days to seven required to quarantine instead of 14.

Dubois met with the media in Winnipeg recently, and had this to say:

It already feels like home. I got here last night at 10:30 but waking up this morning and being back in Canada and being here … but it already feels good here. I'm getting texts from the players. I was on the phone with the organization yesterday. I have a really good feeling.

That's something that I'm moving on from. A lot of things happened in the past two or three years. I'm extremely grateful for everything that Columbus has done for me. I'm excited for this new chapter, this new opportunity with a new team, a new coaching staff, a new organization, new fans.

A lot of people don't realize Dubois' father is an assistant coach with the Manitoba Moose and Dubois knows Winnipeg well, as when the NHL initially paused, he made his way to his parents house to quarantine before the playoffs kicked off.

I spent my quarantine here almost a year ago. I got familiar with DeLuca's that I'm really excited to go back to. I'm looking forward to getting to know the city more. I'm looking forward to meeting my teammates, but I'm really excited for this new chapter.
