Pittsburgh and Winnipeg Discussing Trade

The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Winnipeg Jets are working on a trade for Jets' right-winger Jack Roslovic, this according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

The Penguins are paper thin on their right-side of their forward group, which has seen a blown early on as Kasperi Kapanen didn't get his Visa papers authorized in time to make training camp when it opened. The team has now started 0-2 with two losses to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Now the Pens have been in talks with the Jets about the 23-year-old Roslovic who scored 12 goals in 71 games last season and his development is pointing towards being a 20-goal scorer one day.

Roslovic was a former first-round pick from 2015 and is still without a contract. The Penguins don't have a ton of cap space left, so there will certainly be an NHL rostered player going the other way.

Look for a name like defenseman Juuso Riikola to be involved in the deal as the Jets are thin on defense and the Pens need to move some salary in order to sign Roslovic.

The Penguins have been in the news lately about acquiring some high-end talent eventually so the news of them trying to make a deal makes sense.
