Report: Montreal Canadiens Make Offer for Pierre-Luc Dubois
According to Elliotte Friedman's 31 Thoughts, the Columbus Blue Jackets 'aren't screwing around' and will be moving Pierre-Luc Dubois sooner than later. We've kept you up to date on all the information being shared by all of hockey's best insiders, and today it's the Montreal Canadiens who are being featured.
Friedman reports the Montreal Canadiens are definitely amongst the team's talking trade with Columbus but Habs fans probably don't want to hear what the ask was. According to a source the Blue Jackets countered the Canadiens offer and asked the team for Nick Suzuki in return and general manager Marc Bergevin was apparently not pleased.
The two teams recently completed a one-for-one deal with swapping Max Domi and Josh Anderson, however with this type of price tag it doesn't sound like a deal is likely to be completed.
The Canadiens surprised themselves last season with their small playoff success and have made some significant upgrades to all elements of their lineup, so the team is surely to make another move or two before the trade deadline in 2021.
It just at this point, doesn't appear Pierre-Luc Dubois will be heading to Montreal any time soon.
