Rumor: Another Trade Coming from Colorado
On Tuesday the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild pulled off a rare one-for-one defenseman trade as they swapped Ian Cole and Greg Pateryn and from all accounts it sounds like that's just the beginning for the Avs.
Colorado and their management team, led by Joe Sakic have become some of the best decision makers in the league as they have continued to draft well, sign their players to affordable contracts and pull off savvy trades.
Their next move is likely to include a goaltender as the team has more NHL ready defensemen then they need with the likes of youngsters Conor Timmins and Bowen Byram ready for the spotlight.
Look for the team to move out either Erik Johnson or Samuel Girard for a proven goaltender, this according to the Denver Post.
Some names they team is likely interested in would be Marc-Andre Fleury, David Rittich, and Joonas Korpisalo. However, with the start Philipp Grubauer is off to, you have to wonder if this comes to fruition.

The Avs have more viable options than coach Jared Bednar can use on the blue line. Who’s the D-man that’s most likely to be disappointed with his ice time? And how does Bednar juggle it all? https://t.co/eGeuwBGPyT
