Rumor: Patrik Laine to the Philadelphia Flyers
The Patrik Laine sweepstakes have been going on since last fall when his agent came out and suggested a trade would benefit both parties and the sweepstakes will certainly continue throughout this season. While no one has suggested a trade is imminent for the Winnipeg Jets sniper, it's recently been revealed one team has certainly had a ton of interest.
Insert the Philadelphia Flyers.
On Laine, Friedman says one of the teams that thought hardest about acquiring him was the Flyers, but Laine needs a new deal soon which will be a big number coupled with a flat cap and Winnipeg's high asking price, it's a tough deal to do right now.

The Jets asking price will 100% be extremely high and if were looking at the Flyers roster, names like Morgan Frost, Travis Konecny and Philippe Myers would likely have to be included in the deal.
Flyers fans are probably freaking out but there's no chance the Jets trade a young sniper capable of 50 goal seasons without getting a massive package in return.
Laine has recently spoken with the media and mentioned even Wayne Gretzky was traded once, so you know he thinks there's a chance a deal could happen.
The Jets will have a spotlight on them from many other teams as the league keeps a close eye on Laine's emotions, production and availability.
