St Louis Blues Head Coach Calls Out His Team
Craig Berube was one of the most feared players in NHL history and having him as a head coach would be terrifying. The St Louis Blues are lucky enough to be in that situation and Beurbe's shown he's capable of leading a team to a Stanley Cup. Right now however, the Blues are no where close to Cup contenders and their coach is sick and tired of what he's seeing.
The Blues lost 2-1 in a shootout to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night and their head coach didn't hold back after the game:
We have a lot of guys that aren't skating and aren't competing hard enough. Yeah, PK killed off seven penalties, I mean two 5-on-3s. It's ridiculous, the penalties. We can't go to the box that much.
Yikes, is there a leadership issue since Alex Pietrangelo isn't there to hold people accountable? Who knows at this point as Ryan O'Reilly is more than capable of leading a team.
Right now the Blues have multiple players under achieving. Torey Krug, Mike Hoffman and O'Reilly all have one point so far this season.
Look for the Blues to turn up the intensity next game and expect the notorious slow-starting Blues to turn it around in the coming weeks.
