The Edmonton Oilers Are In DEEP Goaltending Trouble
The Edmonton Oilers found their stride after splitting games with the Vancouver Canucks. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins popped off and put up multiple points each. Goaltending is their only apparent shortcoming and it just got shorter.
The Oilers have announced that goaltender Mike Smith has been placed on long term injury reserve. This means he will miss a minimum of 24 days in which the Oilers have 10 games scheduled. The Oilers have recalled Olivier Rodrigue from the Austrian league to join their taxi squad.
