Tim Stützle: World Junior Phenom Travels Directly To Ottawa Senators Training Camp
There are a number of players at the IIHF World Junior Tournament who have already been drafted to the NHL. However, there are few who are scheduled to leave the Edmonton bubble and travel directly to training camp.
Tim Stützle, drafted 3rd overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, was absolutely dominate for Team Germany and lead them to the quarterfinals for the first time in their history. After their defeat by Team Russia, Stützle flew to Ottawa to begin his mandatory seven day quarantine before he takes the ice in his first NHL training camp. If he plays with the same level of tenacity as he did in the World Junior Tournament, he will have an explosive rookie season.
Tim Stützle is flying into Ottawa late tonight. No word on if he'll need a police escort from YOW, but there's plenty of excitement for his arrival both inside and outside the #sens organization.
