Trade coming from the Anaheim Ducks
The Anaheim Ducks know Ryan Getzlaf isn't going to play forever so if they want their captain to get back to the promise-land in California, the team needs to get him some help for a playoff push.
The Ducks talked to the Jets about Patrik Laine, but were unwilling to give up either Jamie Drysdale or Trevor Zegras in the deal. This according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. The hockey insider has also made mention on his latest segment of 31 Thoughts, the Ducks are trying to make a move to upgrade their offense.
The Ducks currently don't have much for cap space and any deal will need to balance itself out financially. Sucks when you have Corey Perry on your payroll making over $6 million, meanwhile he's playing in Montreal.
Expect the Ducks to circle around the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders and Nashville Predators as they search for ways to improve their club.
