Video: Jets' Patrik Laine Comments on Trade Demands!
Patrik Laine's name has been soaring through the trade rumor mills every since his agent came out last fall and made it clear Laine wants out of Winnipeg. As training camp opened on Sunday, the media was curious to know if the Jets were going to let Laine speak to the media. Turns out they did, and the Finnish sniper had this to say on Monday:
“I’m here right now. That’s all I am worried about. I just want to play...I am not worried about all the talk and all the speculation.”

Patrik Laine in Winnipeg: "I'm here, aren't I?... Even Wayne Gretzky got traded." Vows to be best player he can be and help team.

Wow...Laine comes out with the 'Even Gretzky got traded' quote, some will be shocked, while some will say that's just how Patrik Laine sees himself. The Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers, and Columbus Blue Jackets have all held trade discussions with the Jets, and it's expected when Laine is dealt it will be to the east coast. Trading a young sniper with superstar potential within your conference is a recipe for disaster.
Keep an eye on the New York Rangers, who are loaded with young talent at multiple positions and have some cap space to burn. They also have trade history with the Jets which could be paramount to further discussions.
