Video: Leafs' Freddie Andersen Keeps Dominating the Oilers

Don't look now but the Toronto Maple Leafs are atop the NHL standings after three weeks of play. The Buds are off to a blazing 7-2 start and while most of their success comes down to their star-packed offense, it's Frederik Andersen who stood out on Thursday night.

Andersen and the Leafs faced off against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, and if you bet and didn't take the Leafs, well sorry, but then you didn't do your homework.

That's right, Andersen has never lost to the Oilers in Edmonton and on Thursday night he was absolutely solid in the crease, stopping 26 shots. With backup Jack Campbell injured and the Leafs relying on journeyman, Michael Hutchinson for backup duties, there's no doubt Andersen needs to be in the Leafs' crease and performing well.

So far this season, Andersen is leading the league with 5 wins, and has a 2.87 goals against average. While he and the Leafs would love to see that number dip closer to 2.00, the Leafs are happy he's able to get the job done and keep teams under three, because it's obvious the Leafs are rolling and capable of potting four goals each night.
