VIDEO: Sabres Forward Out for the Season!
The Buffalo Sabres were dealt a blow to their forward group as Zemgus Girgensons tore his hamstring during a practice early this week and has undergone surgery. The 27-year-old who just turned 27 yesterday was not expecting such horrible news for his birthday.
Girgensons collided with a teammate during practice, fell awkwardly and yes, unfortunately the rest is history.
Zemgus Girgensons underwent successful surgery today to repair a hamstring injury suffered during our scrimmage on Jan. 4.

The expected recovery time for this injury is approximately six months.
Girgensons will miss the entire season and will look to come back as strong as ever. Last season in Buffalo, the former first round pick finished the year with 12 goals, 19 points in 69 games. In 438 career NHL games, Girgensons has recorded 138 points.
