Will The Philadelphia Flyers Quit On Nolan Patrick?

Nolan Patrick was drafted 2nd overall at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He is a promising young prospect, but he has been plagued with concussion related injuries. It is still unclear whether he will be able to play this season for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Patrick has not played an NHL game since the end of the 2019 season. Through no fault of his own, he has been sidelined due to a migraine disorder related to repeated concussions. His career may be in jeopardy at just 22 years old. He was expected to play for the Flyers in the 2020 bubble playoffs, but this never came to fruition.

Patrick has made it clear that he's feeling good right now but he is still taking it day by day. He will decide whether or not he is ready to go for the season in the upcoming week. Head Coach Allain Vigneault is pleased to see that Patrick has been medically cleared for contact and looks forward to seeing him back in action.

If Patrick can not play this season, what options remain for the Flyers? There have been several rumors linking him to his hometown of Winnipeg, but the Jets may no longer be interested in a player who is unable to take the ice. Of course his health takes priority over his career, but the Flyers' options may be limited if Patrick is unable to play this season.
