Calgary Flames Scratch Sam Bennett, Trade Next?
The Calgary Flames take on the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night and they will be without forward Sam Bennett. The team has decided Bennett will be scratched from their lineup and will not suit up. While the trade mills will certainly be spinning, according to one insider, a trade is not imminent.
Sam Bennett likely won’t be in the Flames lineup tonight against the Winnipeg Jets. Coach decision. This may fuel trade speculation, but sources say, at the moment, there is nothing on the front burner related to trade.

Bennett's agent recently made it known his client prefers to play elsewhere and there's been lots of rumors circulating since.
So far in nine games with the Flames, Bennett has recorded one assist. The Flames coaching staff worked with Bennett in the offseason to ensure he was playing the position he preferred and after a couple of games at centre, Bennett asked to be moved back to the wing and since then the trade speculation has started.
The native of Holland Landing, ON has been linked to deals with the New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers.
