Chase for 50: Matthews Scores Twice More as Leafs Defeat Canadiens
Auston Matthews is on pace for 50 goals, which after his 47-goal performance from last season may not surprise many but let's remind everyone were talking a 56-game season here...
Matthews torrid pace continued on Saturday night as he scored two more goals against Carey Price and the Canadiens. The 23-year-old has now scored 18 goals in 18 games and is putting himself in the conversation for the Hart trophy.
The Leafs now sit 14-3-2 on the season which is five points ahead of 2nd place in the league. Matthews strong play has certainly had a huge deal to do with the team's success this season.
