Crazy Rumors About Why Tony DeAngelo Was Waived
The New York Rangers surprised us all on Sunday when the team announced they had waived defenseman, Tony DeAngelo. The 25-year-old RHD had just signed a two year deal worth $4.8 million per season back in October of 2020, and was coming off a 50-point season in the Big Apple.
While DeAngelo's antics have left many in question before, this move was a bit of a shock. What's even crazier as the stories that are popping up about what actually happened after the Rangers lost in overtime on Saturday.
Here's some of the rumors floating around, you decide for yourself what to believe:
Here's what we know: Tony DeAngelo started a fight with Alex Georgiev after last night's OTL to Pitt. A miscommunication between the 2 led to the OT winner.

Looks like the relationship between the @NYRangers and Tony DeAngelo reached a point of no returns. That explains why he’s on waivers today. Not related to his game but more on the way he conducted himself at times.

W/ Tony DeAngelo’s NHL future up in the air, it’s worth talking about how the New York Rangers enabled & promoted him the past 4 yrs, despite knowing his history of racist comments & current problematic behaviour that includes COVID denials & that the American election is rigged.
