Fantastic News For The Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been going through injury troubles this season. Joe Thornton and Nick Robertson are getting closer to making a return, but they have been out of the lineup for quite some time. The Leafs have finally received some good news on the injury front.
The Maple Leafs dominated the Vancouver Canucks in a decisive 7-3 victory. Although there is much to celebrate, there was grave concern for the status of Travis Dermott. Maple Leafs Rasmus Sandin is ready to fill in if need be, but teammates and coaches were concerned about Dermott after he left the game in the first period and did not return.
Dermott played only one shift against the Canucks after being on the receiving end of a hit laid by Tyler Motte. Dermott immediately went to the bench where he could be seen working with a trainer to stretch out his leg. He ultimately did not return, but Coach Sheldon Keefe gave an update on his injury. He stated that Dermott is okay and his injury seems minor. Whether he will be in the lineup tomorrow night against the Canucks is unclear, but the Leafs finally catch a break with this good news.
