Golden Knights Reject Penguins Trade Offer
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been all over the headlines lately and it continues as according to TSN's Bob McKenzie, when the Penguins were under an interim general manager, they contacted the Vegas Golden Knights with offers for Marc-Andre Fleury.
Bob McKenzie (TSN) reported Wednesday that Penguins tried to acquire Marc-Andre Fleury during GM search time period. I’d heard they’d made inquiries. But those could be same things.

As I wrote this past summer, Fleury does prefer to end career with Penguins.
The 36-year-old Fleury spent over a decade with the Penguins and it's been long rumored he would eventually end up back with Pittsburgh. He's made it known that is his preference.
This season he's been lights out and there's no reason for the Golden Knights to move him. Their goalie tandem rivals any other in the league. In five games so far this season MAF has recorded a 1.80 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.
His contract would be the biggest hurdle, as the Penguins are up against the cap. In order to make the financials work, a deal would likely have to include a combination of two of Michael Matheson, Bryan Rust or Tristan Jarry.
For now, Fleury's not going anywhere. This offseason, well that's a different story.
