Insider Names His Team Canada Olympic Team
Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun took a run at one of the hardest things in hockey....naming a Team Canada Olympic Team. The nation is supreme when it comes to hockey and a lot of the time could ice two teams for the games and likely both make it to the final four.
While there's been a slight change of the guard recently with the influx of young Canadian talent into the NHL, LeBrun's list looked as solid as ever with a lot of big names sitting on the outside looking in.
Here's who one of the biggest hockey insider's thinks with represent Canada at next year's Olympic Games:
Forwards:
Connor McDavid - Nathan MacKinnon - Sidney Crosby
Mark Scheifele - Brayden Point - Brad Marchand
Mitch Marner - Steven Stamkos - Mark Stone
Ryan O'Reilly - Mathew Barzal - Patrice Bergeron
Bo Horvat - John Tavares
Defense:
Alex Pietrangelo - Cale Makar
Morgan Rielly - Aaron Ekblad
Dougie Hamilton - Shea Theodore
Josh Morrissey - Drew Doughty
Goaltenders:
Carey Price, Jordan Binnington, Carter Hart
Notably absent:
Brent Burns, Jonathan Toews, Marc-Andre Fleury, Taylor Hall, Tyler Seguin, Kris Letang, Mark Giordano
My head wanted to explode by the end of it. On the thankless job of picking Team Canada's men's roster for the Olympics, which are slated to begin a year from now. Oh, and my 25-man roster!https://t.co/ToPSEjcCpI
