Nashville Predators Pounded With Injuries
The Nashville Predators are dropping like flies as the team has announced defenseman Mattias Ekholm is out for 'weeks' with an undisclosed injury. The veteran defenseman did not play in the third period of Tuesday night's loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
This news comes after the team is already without center Ryan Johansen, who is also out for 'weeks' as he's gone down with a lower-body injury.
Predators coach John Hynes told 102.5 FM this morning that Mattias Ekholm is “week-to-week” with an unspecified injury. He joins Ryan Johansen, who is also “week-to-week,” on the injured list.

The Predators are 5-8-0 on the season and have lost five of their past six games, including getting trounced by the Lightning recently by a combined score of 10-1. Their next game is Thursday night against the dismal Detroit Red Wings.
As for Ekholm, the long-time Predator had recorded three assists so far this season and was seeing almost 21 minutes of ice-time a night. If you have Roman Josi or Ryan Ellis in your pool, enjoy their added ice-time.
