New Jersey Devils Coach Playfully Roasts P.K. Subban
The New Jersey Devils have had their season postponed until February 6th, but this may be re-evaluated. Their team has exceeded all expectations so far and are right in the mix with their East Division counterparts. After their last victory, Head Coach Lindy Ruff had some fun and playfully roasted P.K. Subban.
Lindy Ruff has been an NHL coach for ages. In his early days, Ruff was known as a micromanagers and a bit of a hard-ass. He made large demands from his star players and wasn't shy to bag skate the team if need be. As time has gone one, Ruff has become more laid back and some may even consider him to have evolved into a players' coach. This means he gives more freedom to the team and players can easily approach and consult the coach.
There is now some proof of Ruff's evolution. After the Devils' 5-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on January 31st, Ruff came into the room tocongratulate players on their first NHL wins and first two goal games. He then offered congratulations to Subban for playing his first game without being a minus. Thankfully Subban doesn't take himself too seriously and Ruff acknowledged that is was just a joke. The locker room absolutely loved it!
You know what I love about this #NJDevils team?

They know who they are and don’t take themselves too seriously.
And head coach Lindy Ruff may be the ringleader of it all.
An absolutely beautiful roasting job of PK Subban last night. 😂
