Rumor: Ottawa Senators Closing In On A Trade
The Ottawa Senators are by far the worst team in the league this season which to some, is a bit of a shock considering all of the moves they pulled off before the season started. One of those moves was to bring in veteran center Derek Stepan from the Arizona Coyotes for a 2nd-round pick.
Stepan is the highest paid Senators forward, as he makes $6.5 million this season which is the last on his contract as he heads for free-agency next offseason. Well, needless to say it hasn't worked out for Stepan so far in Canada's capital, and after nine games, and three points, the Senators are looking to move Stepan back closer to home.
If im not mistaken, Stepan has a newborn and young family back in the US.... which he cant really see. So this is prob a situation where they r gonna do him a favour anyways

Just a guess
Look for the Senators to try and facilitate a deal with a team from the south west, so Stepan is able to see his young family more.
