Sabres Shopping Right-Handed Defenseman

The Buffalo Sabres are in for some changes this season as they continue to struggle. While most of the attention has been focused on captain Jack Eichel and pending free-agent Taylor Hall, the team has been busy trying to move others. According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Sabres have been shopping right-handed defenseman, Brandon Montour.

The 26-year-old defenseman who is in the last year of his contract has appeared in 14 games so far this season and has yet to score and has only registered three assists. This is a far cry from what the Sabres thought of Montour when they sent a first-round pick and a prospect to Anaheim in February of 2019.

Montour is currently signed to a one-year $3.85 million contract and is set to become an unrestricted free-agent at season's end.

Team's interested in Montour are expected to include the Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, and Winnipeg Jets.
