Sidney Crosby Comments On Recent Trade Rumors

Recently TSN's Darren Dreger has been lighting the fire underneath the trade rumor mills as one of hockey's biggest insiders has done the rounds on the Pittsburgh Penguins potentially trading Sidney Crosby.

While Dreger consistently mentions it's only speculation and the conversation may need to happen after this season, Crosby himself has heard the noise and had some things to say about it. #87 met with NHL.com's Wes Crosby and touched on the chatter:

No, nothing's changed. ... I love playing here. This is where I'd love to play for the rest of my career. I think as long as I feel good, I'd love to play as long as I can. I don't have an idea. ... I focus on playing out my contract and seeing where I'm at then.

Penguins fans can breathe easy

New Penguins' President of Hockey Operations, Brian Burke commented recently that the Penguins are win-now for this season and after this season the team was going to evaluate all their options. And while trading Crosby would have to be his call with his no-movement clause, it's likely the team moves on from Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin, long before ever trading Crosby.

Crosby will play in his 1000th game on Saturday. Pens fans are hoping all of his remaining games come in Penguins' colors.
