St Louis Blues Dealt Major Blow

The St Louis Blues are going to have their center depth tested as the team announced Robert Thomas broke his thumb and will be out a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks.

The play happened on Saturday as the Blues lost to the Arizona Coyotes. Thomas scored a goal in the matchup but then left the game. Jacob De La Rose has been recalled by the team as the Blues are rather thin at center with the likes of Tyler Bozak also on the shelve with a upper body injury.

The 21-year-old Thomas hits the IR after appearing in 12 games so far this season and producing one goal and six points. While it's certainly not the start he was looking for, Thomas won't be happy to hit the sidelines for a month and a half.

The Blues currently sit at 7-4-1 on the season and will have to rely heavily on the likes of Brayden Schenn and Ryan O'Reilly to carry the load down the middle.
