Tanner Pearson Comments On His Future in Vancouver
The Vancouver Canucks have been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons. General manager Jim Benning admitted he just ran out of time trying to sign free agent Tyler Toffoli, and now the team needs turns its focus to this year's pending free agents.
This includes forward Tanner Pearson.
The 28-year-old Pearson is currently making $3.75 million in the final year of his contract and so far in 14 games he's recorded eight points. Last season he finished with 21 goals and 45 points in 69 games and showed he can contribute to a young Canucks top-six.
Pearson understands it's a business and he recently met with the media and had this to say about his intentions:
When the time comes, I'm all ears, I want to stay here
While this simple line is music to the ears of Canucks fans, the team has a number of players to sign. The likes of Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, Alex Edler, Jordie Benn and Brandon Sutter are all free agents. Let's see if Benning runs out of time trying to get everyone's signature on the dotted line.
