Update on Ryan Getzlaf's Future in Anaheim
According to Frank Seravalli of TSN, the Anaheim Ducks are not expected to ask captain Ryan Getzlaf to waive his no-movement clause to facilitate any deal this season.
The long-time Duck has spent his entire 16-year career in California and given all his success with the franchise over the years, many don't feel he's interested in 'chasing another Cup'. Getzlaf's family is more than settled in Anaheim so it makes sense for him to ride out the back nine of his career right where it all began.

As for this season, the Ducks sit 6th in the West division with a 6-8-3 record and are having a hard time finding the back of the net. The team is dead last in the league in goals per game as they are only scoring on average 1.88 goals a contest, which even with John Gibson as your goaltender, won't get it done.
Getzlaf has managed only six points in 15 games and has seen his ice-time dip this season but it doesn't sound like enough to want to make a drastic change. He is in the final year of his contract, but I could see him signing a two or three deal on the cheap to ride off into the California sunset.
