Video: Blues' Binnington Gets Pulled, Goes After Multiple Sharks
St Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington was pulled on Saturday night against the San Jose Sharks after he gave up four goals on 19 shots. While getting pulled is something that happens to goaltenders over time, Binnington decided this time was going to be different. The Blues netminder went after multiple Sharks' players on his way to the bench.
While the 27-year-old was clearly pissed off with either his performance, the Sharks players or both, his opposing goaltender Devan Dubnyk ended up stepping in and had this to say after the game:
I don't know why he's skating around, pretending to punch guys. I told him to get off the ice, he's 165 pounds, swinging at guys, fake-punching guys.
Binnington was assessed a two-minute unsportsmanlike penalty for his antics. Here's a look at something you don't see everyday:
Ville Husso took over the crease for the Blues trailing 4-3 at the time. He went on to stop 19 of 21 shots as the Blues scored three times in the third period to secure the win.
