Video: Patrik Laine Scores First Goal with Columbus
Patrik Laine got his wish out of Winnipeg and now he's finally got his visa sorted out and hit the ice with his new teammates in Columbus.
The Blue Jackets took on the Dallas Stars on Thursday and in Laine's second game with his new team, the Finnish sniper was able to get on the board. While it wasn't Laine's prettiest goal, it was great to see him get on the board with his new club. Going several games without scoring when that's your primary focus would not be easy living when you're playing for John Tortorella.
Per the game notes:
Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic scored for the first time since being traded to Columbus last month, and the Blue Jackets beat the Dallas Stars 4-3 on Thursday night to earn a split of the two-game series. Laine showed why the Blue Jackets were so hot on him when found the back of the net with a slick backhand shot. But a turnover by Laine led to a Stars rush and a goal that went in off Dickinson's skate before the second intermission.
Torts won't love that turnover, but he will love some more of this:
