3 San Jose Sharks Most Likely to be Traded

The San Jose Sharks are going to be an active team before this season's trade deadline as general manager Doug Wilson showed his hand and informed the league he's hitting the 'reset' button. The news wasn't welcomed by many of the Sharks as the team has been frustrated the past season and a half with their performance.

While some of the veterans are pissed off with the news of selling at the deadline, the team has no choice and needs to focus on the future of the franchise.

Here's 3 Sharks who are most likely to be moved before April 12:

Devan Dubnyk, G

Dubnyk is a veteran netminder who can provide teams with some insurance come playoff time. While his starting days are behind him, 'Duby' is a solid #2 who has recently battled back to have some good nights for the Sharks. Teams like the Washington Capitals and Colorado Avalanche have been linked to Dubnyk this season and another one you can add is the Chicago Blackhawks. There's no doubt the Sharks are offering Dubnyk in trade packages at the moment.

Patrick Marleau, LW

The NHL's second most experienced player of all-time is closing in on Gordie Howe's games-played record but if he's traded to Canada it could spell the end to making history as he'll have to wait two weeks to play again. The 41-year-old is nowhere near the player he once was and if he's added to a contender it's strictly for the fourth line or some insurance from the press box. So far this season Marleau has recorded one goal and five points in 30 games during his third stint in San Jose. He recently admitted he'd be open to a deal to a contender once again this season.

Marcus Sorensen, LW

The 28-year-old is a pending unrestricted free-agent and has been drawing interest from other teams on the rental market. His cap-hit of $1.5 million isn't too bad, but he's only chipped in with one goal in 18 games so far this season. Sorensen does have 34 games of playoff experience which could be helpful for a contenders' bottom-six. He's not expected to re-sign in San Jose so Wilson mid as well get something in return.
