Arizona Coyotes To Trade Highly Coveted Defenceman
The Arizona Coyotes are just one point removed from a playoff spot in the West Division. There have been a number of rumors regarding the 'Yotes, but it seems more likely than not that Alex Goligoski will finish the season in another team's uniform.
TSN's Frank Seravalli reports that the Coyotes are listening to offers on Goligoski and are expected to move him before the trade deadline. He is listed at number 22 on The Athletic's trade board and is one of the best defensive options on the market.
Goligoski is 35 years old and is in the final year of a five-year, $27.375 million contract. He has played some of the best hockey of his career on this contract, but Seravalli states that there have not been any discussions regarding an extension. The Coyotes need to decide if they're going to be buyers at the deadline to make the playoffs, or if they're going to sell off their UFA players to stockpile assets.
