Blackhawks Get Exciting News Regarding Star Player
The Chicago Blackhawks were expected to be in the running for a draft lottery pick. However, Patrick Kane and Alex Debrincat have carried the team while Johnathon Toews has been away. Kevin Lankinen, who replaced Corey Crawford, has been an absolute stud in net. The team has got some exciting news that may cement their playoff expectations.
Kirby Dach, the young No. 1 center, fractured his wrist in the first preliminary game of the World Junior Championship Tournament. The initial prognosis was 4-6 months out of the lineup. However, Dach has now joined his teammates for the first time since his surgery. He was a non-contact participant in an optional practice, but he's making great strides to return to the lineup for playoffs.
Dach will also be travelling with the team on their upcoming 6 game, 12 day road trip.
Obviously, it's another step for him to be joining the team in some way, but he still has a ways to go. He's going to look like he's ready to play and we're still going to hold him out, probably, to be smart. He's definitely moving through here, and it's positive for everyone. I'm not sure exactly timeline wise, but I do know he looks good and it's hard to handicap it. We're too far away at this point.
