Buffalo Sabre Jack Eichel Being Reevaluated

The Buffalo Sabres have been playing lately without their captain Jack Eichel and it sounds like that's going to be the case moving forward. The forward was sent back to Buffalo to be reevaluated by team doctors as the team awaits further word on his injury.

At this time he's slated to miss at least another week, which could potentially turn into a month.

Here's what head coach Ralph Krueger had to say about Eichel's injury as it's great to see the head coach have a grasp on the health of his team's best player:

Jack went back to Buffalo early. Still being assessed. He'll be out a minimum a week. We have an upper-body situation that needs some deeper analysis before we decide further. We'll keep you posted. He's definitely out a minimum a week and has been back in Buffalo.

The Sabres are 6-14-4 on the season and are getting outscored at a record pace. Eichel hasn't had his best season, scoring only two goals and 16 assists in 21 games.

There's been a ton of trade talk surrounding Eichel and the Sabres in general. While it's not expected general manager Kevyn Adams will trade Eichel before the April 12th deadline, there's certainly growing belief that he will be dealt during the summer months.

The Sabres have lost eight straight games.
