Dallas Stars GM Comments On Head Coach’s Job Security

The Dallas Stars began their season with a 4 game winning streak. However, their record is 2-6-4 in their last 12 starts. Stars fans and media members have began to ponder whether GM Jim Nill will fire Head Coach Rick Bowness.

Saad Yousuf of The Athletic reports that Jim Nill has stated "there is no hot seat" in regards to Bowness. The Stars are scheduled to play 40 games in 70 nights, but their struggles must not continue if they wish to make the playoffs.

Nill has made it clear that he has full confidence in Bowness. The Stars have suffered key injuries and Bowness has done a great job despite the team's woes. Bowness brought the Stars to the Stanley Cup Finals during a pandemic at the age of 66. It's easy to blame a coach, but the circumstances surrounding the Stars organization mitigate the direction of that blame.

If the Stars slump continues, will Jim Nill change his mind about Bowness? Will he make a trade to shake things up? Could Nill himself be fired if this season doesn't turn around? Only time can answer these questions.
