Florida Panthers' Aaron Ekblad Out for the Season

The Florida Panthers have announced defenseman Aaron Ekblad will miss the remainder of the season with a left leg fracture.

The injury occurred during Sunday's contest with the Dallas Stars as Ekblad received an innoncent bodycheck but managed to get his left leg caught under him and fell on it extremly awkwardly. It was immediate pain and the horrific scene was flat out hard to watch.

The Panthers who were already in the trade market for a defenseman, are likely to make a move or two to acquire some more depth on their blue line.

As for Ekblad, this is a huge gut-punch as he was having a career season and had played his way into the Norris trophy conversation.

We wish him nothing but the best and hope for a full/speedy recovery.
