Flyers' Carter Hart: 'It's Just Shi**y Right Now'

Carter Hart of the Philadelphia Flyers is struggling at the moment and he'll be the first to tell you it sucks. This is currently the worst stretch of the young goaltenders career and it's going to take some grinding to get himself back on track.

Hart spoke with the media after once again getting pulled on Tuesday night against the dismal Buffalo Sabres and had this to say about his current state:

I just need to find more ways to stop pucks. Just go out and play. Not overthink things and just trust my game. It's just shitty right now. I don't feel like myself, and I've got to find a way to get back into playing the game that I love and trusting the game I've built.

For a 22-year-old netminder in the NHL there's going to be a ton of ups-and-downs and right now Hart's certainly down. That doesn't mean the Flyers are going to give up on him or turn away from having him man the crease. The team has veteran Brian Elliott providing some stability so they'll be able to let Hart figure out his game.

Here's what Flyers coach Alain Vigneault had to say about Hart's recent performance:

Carter is a very young goaltender. We all believe in him, we all think that he's got a tremendous amount of potential. But it's a tough position. He's going to learn from this, he's going to get better.

Look for the Flyers to give Hart a night off or two to get his game back on track via work in practice. He's currently sitting with a 6-5-3 record and a .888 save % which will need to improve if he wants to see the crease come playoff time.
