Joonas Korpisalo Makes 2 Amazing ‘Dominic Hasek Like’ Saves
The Columbus Blue Jackets have been in the media for the past few months; not all for good reasons. Joonas Korpisalo has been shaky at times but has also flashed some moments of greatness. He made two particular saves last night that could both be eligible for save of the year.
Korpisalo had Aleksander Barkov and Gustav Forsling staring up at the hockey gods wondering how the heck they didn't score. Just 2 minutes and 40 seconds into the game, Barkov received a pass on Korpisalo's weak side. He fired the puck but Korpisalo was able to stretch out and somehow get a piece of it. Korpisalo made the same maneuver in order to block Forsling's shot, which hit the post and rolled away from the net. These saves resemble the great 'Dominic Hasek' who was known for his unconventional style of goaltending.

The absolute 🐐. Isn’t even debatable. Hasek revolutionized the position. 6 Vezina Trophies in 8 seasons. Back to back League MVPs (Hart Trophy), and a Gold Medal in Nagano where he beat arguably the greatest team Canada has ever Assembled in a shootout
