Maple Leafs Discussing Multiple Trades For Forward Depth

The Toronto Maple Leafs are the best team in the NHL to this point and if management has their way, they will be adding a forward or two by the April 12th trade deadline.

According to insider Darren Dreger, the Leafs have interest in some depth forwards who can push their top-six for ice-time. Names like Mikael Granlund of Nashville has long been rumored, and so has Bobby Ryan of the Detroit Red Wings.

The Leafs are currently giving the likes of Pierre Engvall and Alexander Barabanov some significant minutes and the hope is to be able to move them down the lineup come playoff time.

Some other names who the Leafs are reportedly interested in include Alex Iafallo of the Los Angeles Kings, Kyle Palmieri of the New Jersey Devils and Tanner Pearson from the Vancouver Canucks.

The Leafs have a cupboard full of prospects and will need to sweeten the pot in any trade as they will require the team they are dealing with to retain some of salary.

With the quarantine protocols in place in Canada, expect to see the Leafs pull the trigger on a trade sooner than later as they look to have their lineup set before April.

It's a wonderful time to be alive for Leafs Nation as their team is currently 17-4-2 and leading their division by seven points. Adding to their talented mix up front will only add to the excitement for Leafs fans.
