Montreal Canadiens Fire Goalie Coach, Hire Sean Burke
The changes in Montreal continue as the Canadiens have fired goaltending coach, Stephane Waite and replaced him with Sean Burke. Burke will now hold the title of Director of Goaltending with the team.
Waite joined the Canadiens back in 2013 and has a winning pedigree that includes two Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Marc Bergevin said Stephane Waite was fired during second period of last night's game...did not consult Carey Price, informed him afterwards

As for Burke, he'll require to quarantine for two weeks before he can join the team. He was hired back in 2016 to be a scout with the team and has been working in management for quite some time once he 18-year NHL career was over.
While goaltender Carey Price looked sharp on Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators, the netminder has been struggling so far this season and the Canadiens will need him at the top of his game if they want to make noise in the playoffs. Backup Jake Allen has performed well since his arrival via St Louis, holding a 4-2-2 record with a 2.12 goals against average and a .929 save percentage.
Even after the win vs the Senators, Price's save percentage sits at .893.
There doesn't appear to be a goalie controversy taking place just yet in Montreal but if Price struggles and Allen keeps rolling, expect the noise to pick up quickly.
