Nashville's Pekka Rinne Discusses Recent Trade Rumors
The Nashville Predators have reportedly discussed trades with multiple teams as we approach the April 12th trade deadline but one name that's completely off the board is goaltender Pekka Rinne. And if you ask the veteran goaltender, he'll tell you he doesn't want it any other way.
Rinne has spent his entire career in Nashville and he wants to retire a Predator. There was some talk about him chasing a Cup this season but that's not on the table at this time.
Rinne recently spoke with The Athletic's Adam Vingan and had this to say about his future:
I believe in this team. I do want to retire as a Predator. For sure, I want to have success. I've been fortunate that we've been, for most of my career, doing pretty well. For the most part, we've never been sellers at the deadline. Obviously, I don't want to go through that. This is the team I want to retire (with).
There was some interest from other teams including the Pittsburgh Penguins and Colorado Avalanche but the 38-year-old is staying put as a Predator. The former Vezina trophy winner has made it clear he's not interested moving and he's going to ride it out to the Nashville sun.
