Penguins Update Status of Captain Sidney Crosby
When the Pittsburgh Penguins cancelled their morning skate on Tuesday we knew something was up and it turns out that's the case indeed. The team is dealing with COVID and it's resulted in captain Sidney Crosby heading to the NHL's protocol list.
Crosby will miss at least tonight's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
To note, just because Crosby is now listed on the protocol list, doesn't necessarily mean he's tested positive for the virus.
So far this season Crosby has been as solid as ever as the 33-year-old has helped the Pens get passed some early injury troubles, their GM quitting and some shaky goaltending. The Penguins sit at 11-8-1 on the season and Crosby has recorded 18 points in 20 games.
Coach Sullivan on Crosby: "Sid will not be available for tonight's game. He will be listed on the NHL's COVID protocol list. We didn't have a morning skate this morning due to the NHL's COVID protocol."
