Philadelphia Flyers Make Surprising Roster Move
The Philadelphia Flyers have surprisingly put defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere on waivers on Tuesday. The move comes out of left-field as the 27-year-old is having a decent season with the Flyers.
So far in 25 games, Gostisbehere has managed to record 11 points. He has two more seasons left on his contract that sees the cap hit of $4.5 million. Meanwhile the kicker here is the fact the actual cash of the deal has already been mostly paid out and he's only due $3.25 in cash per season.
There's going to be some interest in claiming Gostisbehere so expect to see someone swoop him up on Wednesday. Teams like the Nashville Predators, Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, and Winnipeg Jets are all expected to have some level of interest.

Shayne Gostisbehere, placed on waivers by PHI, is a second-pair offensive defenceman who weirdly doesn't get any primary assists? #AnytimeAnywhere pic.twitter.com/q9V9PAhYim
