Pittsburgh Penguins & Buffalo Sabres Talking Trade
The Buffalo Sabres have put up the 'for sale' sign and are willing to talk trade on all of their current roster including superstars Taylor Hall and Jack Eichel. While the likelihood of general manager Kevyn Adams getting blown away by an offer for either is very slim, but there's a good chance some other Sabres are moved. One team that's contacted the Sabres is the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Ron Hextall and Brian Burke have been working the phones as they try and add for the 'win-now' Penguins and the two have certainly checked in on Adams' asking price.
One name to watch here is Curtis Lazar. While he's not a household name, he's a character player who does all the little things well and would provide the Penguins with some more depth in their bottom-six. Another name that could work for the Penguins if the Sabres are willing to retain some salary is Eric Staal. The Pens would love to secure a legit #3 center before the deadline and Staal could potentially fit in their nicely.

The Penguins have basically zero draft picks to work with in any trade for the upcoming draft as Jim Rutherford loved to sell the farm, so if the Penguins make a couple small moves before the April 12th trade deadline, expect to see a bottom-six forward traded along with a mid-level prospect.
It's only a matter of time before we announce a Sabres trade and it could very well include a Penguin or two.
