According to newly minted hockey insider Kevin Weekes, the Buffalo Sabres and Colorado Avalanche are working on a trade for goaltender Jonas Johansson. The deal should be finalized Friday afternoon.

The former third-round pick has been rumored to being shopped by the Sabres and we first brought you this exact trade on March 14th.
Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic has been making calls trying to find some goaltending depth and from all accounts it sounds like he's found his man in Johansson. At just 25, there's still some potential to be tapped into here.
The 6'4 netminder hasn't been great for Buffalo this season but you can take that with a grain of salt as the team is a mess. He's played a combined 13 NHL games so it is a touch surprising this would be the 'insurance' Sakic landed on for Philipp Grubauer.
Let's hope the Avalanche don't see this side of Johansson and he's able to provide them with some stability at the backup position:

I can say without hesitation that the Avs are getting the worst goalie I've seen during my 19 seasons covering the Sabres.
He doesn't stop pucks in practice or games. https://t.co/lFC8cy6Epl
