Rumor: Canucks and Panthers Working on a Trade
The Vancouver Canucks have been trying all season to trade forward Jake Virtanen and it appears they may have finally found a suitor. According to James Cybulski, the Florida Panthers are interested in Virtanen and are willing to deal defenseman Markus Nutivaraa.
Hearing the Canucks have talked to the Panthers about a possible trade scenario involving Jake Virtanen & one of Florida’s depth D— possibly Markus Nutivaraa. 26 year old D carries 2.7M AAV next season but $3.3M actual dollars. Almost mirrors Virtanen’s $3.4M dollars in 21-22.

As Cybulski points out, the biggest thing here would be the money. Both salaries basically write each other off so there's a good chance this deal gets completed.
So far this season the 26-year-old Nutivaraa has recorded three assists in nine games. As for Virtanen he's chipped in with four goals in 31 games. Both players would benefit from a change of scenery and seem like the perfect pay to be swapped for one another.
