Rumor: New York Rangers To Make Big Offer For Jack Eichel

There are several rumours surrounding Jack Eichel. It is said that the Boston Bruins are prepared to make a significant offer for the Massachusetts native. However, there are now reports that the New York Rangers are prepared for a Jack Eichel bidding war.

Jack Eichel was drafted 2nd overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He's a defacto first overall pick, but Connor McDavid was a generational talent who happened to be the same age as Eichel. There have been unconfirmed reports over the years that Eichel wants out of Buffalo, but this year's results may finally be the last straw.

In 371 games, Eichel has registered 351 points He's nearly a point per game player despite having little talent surrounding him. The Sabres have been underwhelming for several years, and Eichel does not want to waste his prime years.

Darren Dreger of TSN has reported that Eichel has formally requested a trade out of Buffalo.

There are some who wonder if Eichel is hurt. Well Ralph Krueger insists he's not hurt and the organization insists he's not hurt but his body language and the way he's playing... it doesn't look good at all.

The Athletic has reported that an NHL Executive stated off the record that Eichel will soon be a New York Ranger.

I would give up a lot for him. Talent-wise, he's a top 10 forward in the league. If they want to trade him, they're going to get a lot for him.

With a cap hit of $10 million, can the Rangers fit Eichel into the fold?
