Russian Player Battling For His Life After On-Ice Fluke Accident
Timur Faizutdinov was named the captain of Dynamo St. Petersburg of the MHL earlier this season. After taking a puck to the head, the young player is fighting for his life while being sustained by medical machinery.
Faizutdinov has suffered a life threatening injury and new details have emerged on his condition. His condition has steadily declined since being admitted to the hospital. He suffered a fracture to the temporal bone and a cerebral hemorrhage, and the medical prognosis is not balancing in his favor. Faizutdinov is completely intubated as both his heart and lungs have seized independent operation. The damage is believed to be caused by a puck around his exposed ear and jawline, which is consistent with his injuries.
The current complication is that doctors understand he needs an immediate operation on his damaged artery, but they are able to perform this surgery at the current facility. They are also concerned about his survivability if he were transported to another facility.
Be sure to keep this young hockey player in your hearts and minds. His promising hockey career is the least of his concerns as he is fighting to live a full life that lies ahead of him.
